Ron Paul says Latinos have become 'scapegoats' - chicagotribune.com

Reporting from Las Vegas—

As the only Republican applicant for president to tackle Nevada's oldest Latino political company Wednesday morning, Rep. Ron Paul acquired higher marks for bravery. All had been invited only he confirmed up.

He was cheered by members of Hispanics in Politics when he talked about bringing American troops house from wars we should not be concerned in.   The viewers -- dozens of politically energetic Latinos who gathered in an eastside group heart --  applauded Paul the civil libertarian Chinese Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NHL Jerseys when he slammed drug legal guidelines that unfairly focus on minorities.  They even cheered his protection of the gold normal.

Immigration, however, was another story.

The 12-time period Texas congressman spent the far better component of a 25-moment tackle considering aloud about the thorny topic. He talked about how Us citizens are a lot more accepting of outsiders when the economy is very good, but when difficulty looms there is a search for scapegoats.

I feel Hispanics have been utilized as scapegoats, to say, they're the issue as a substitute of getting a symptom maybe of a issue with the welfare state, Paul instructed the group. In Nazi Germany they had to have scapegoats to blame and they turned on the Jews.

Now there's a great deal of antagonism and resentment turned just automatically on immigrants, he continued. You say, no not immigrants, it really is just unlawful immigrants. I do believe in legal immigration. I want to have a provision to obey people laws. You have to recognize this in the context of the financial system.

Paul mentioned he is not a single of these politicians who believes that barbed-wire fences and guns on our border will solve any of our issues. That is not, he mentioned, the American way. And he doesn't assume that a country wide identification card is the way to go.

What the nation does need, he explained, is a considerably far better immigration support fed by a lot more assets. Not that he'd vote for added money. But he does, he informed the crowd, have a plan.
